I don’t hate the BMW X6.
But I’m not in love with it either. I like that it’s ridiculous looking because it’s an expensive vehicle for people that want that kind of attention. It does it’s job perfectly, and I can’t fault it for that.

Sidebar: Why is America not getting the new Chevy Trailblazer? Are they seriously suggesting that they couldn’t sell/market an SUV in the US?

The only acceptable x6 is the X6M

I'll take it one step further: I like that shade of green on that X6.

Can you ever not accept a car with a V8 with over 550hp?

Oooh, yeah, I didn’t even notice that. That’s a great color
Also partial to that blue on the Trailblazer too

I’ll make a confession too:
Ihave an odd draw to the QX80 and its Toyota sibling.

I love the batshit insanity of the X6M.
Honestly, I would get an X6M before an M5,M6 or X5M. M6 Grand Touring is the exception though.

I like the Nissan Juke, I’m trading my Sonic for one a few days.

I like the X6 honestly. Something about it just works.
The X4 though? Hell nope. The X6 design language does not translate downward in size.

Bad news friend; Infiniti is Nissan, Toyota has Lexus.

Right! Batshit insanity is a critical part of buying a luxury car!

I agree, all of the appeal is the exclusivity. It’s the most expensive SUV BMW makes, that's the crazy appeal. It's like buying an M6 over an M5, it's not as useful so it’s cooler lol

I do too - functionally quirky, (but they are a bit too small inside...)

I actually like the styling too. Hate the vehicle but like the way it looks. I actually kind of like the GLE “coupe” as well. Like Logansteno said: The X4 doesn’t really work though - the back overhang is too huge. I just saw one for the first time the other day and my first thought was “why does that X6 look so bad? I remember liking them...” Then I got closer and realized it was smaller and deformed.
Also I’d love the Trailblazer, but it is a small market in the US. The price and fuel economy would be too high for the mainstream compared to crossovers so basically it would just be fighting the 4Runner. Not a lot of sales to go around.

I’m still single, so space is not a issue. The only time I need it is when:
1. Gatorade is on sale, and I buy lots (last time I bought eight, 24 packs @ $15/24 bottles).
2. Moving my tools around for odd jobs.
3. Taking my empties to the beer store.

How To Make The BMW X6 Cool
Take BMW’s Dakar racer
Remove Mini Countryman body
Apply BMW X6 body
That’s it

I think the only SUV I could ever get behind is a diesel Trailblazer, I guess I’m just destined for wagons only lol
Still though, I just can't believe that people wouldn't buy a smaller Tahoe or more capable Equinox /Traverse

I can’t seperate the x6 from 2 assholes that own them.
The trailblazer has been out for 4 years. They did file trademark papers suggesting the next version will replace the traverse. In 2019. If would be expensive to federalize unless they can piggyback the Colorado testing. With crossovers market exploding I don't see it unless as some Colorado trim level.

I hate the X6 and all other vehicles like it.
Compared to the mid/full-size CUVs they’re based on, they drive exactly the same, but you gain swoopy styling in exchange for reduced cargo room and rear seat headroom.
If you’re going go put up with reduced cargo room and rear seat headroom, there are so many other options that will also drive better than a mid/full-size CUV.
Case in point: I really like the X3 with the M Sport and Dynamic Handling packages, because it does a good job of balancing the CUV room for people and cargo while still being pretty fun to drive. The fact that it has both the room and the fun is why I like it. But turn it into an X4 and you just lost a bunch of the room for zero additional fun driving ability.

Oh I think there would be a market, but I’m just not sure it is big enough. I’d love a more capable, diesel Equinox-sized vehicle, but we’ve seen this play out before - all the enthusiasts complained when the Explorer went unibody and towing/off-roaming capability went down, but they kept just enough for sales to go up.

I drove my ex-gf dad’s brand new X6 to the lake once. As we were cruising down the highway, probably doing about 75. The damn thing decided something was wrong in the engine and shut it down. Leaving me about 10 seconds of battery power to get over to the shoulder. It wouldn’t restart. We sat there on the side of the road for about 20 minutes when I tried again and it fired up. Evidently in it’s short life it would also buck and jump around with the engine never really running right. Basically everything in the car was SO annoying to deal with. Everything had a special little process you had to know. What a dumb vehicle.
